Mr. Serik Konakbayev and the whole ASBC management wishes Happy Birthday to Russia’s two-time Olympic Games winner Mr. Aleksei Tishchenko

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Serik Konakbayev, furthermore the whole ASBC management wishes Happy Birthday to Russia’s two-time Olympic Champion, AIBA World Champion and European Champion Mr. Aleksei Tishchenko.
Mr. Aleksei Tishchenko was born in the city of Omsk on May 29 in 1984 and following his successful start in the national level he became AIBA Junior World Champion in Cuba in 2002. In that AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships he dominated all of his contests and showed he is a top talent in our sport.
Following his star teammate Raimkul Malakhbekov failed to qualify for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games he won the second European Qualification Event. Tishchenko not only qualified for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games but he defeated all of his rivals including Kazakhstan’s Galib Dzhafarov in the quarter-final and DPR Korea’s Kim Song Guk in the final of the featherweight (57kg).
Tishchenko won the gold medal at the Mianyang 2005 AIBA World Boxing Championships and became European Champion in 2006. Following his bronze medal in the Chicago 2007 AIBA World Boxing Championships the Russian star defended his Olympic title one year later. Tishchenko defeated five rivals in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games including France’s Daouda Sow in the final.
