Mr. Serik Konakbayev and the whole ASBC management send their sincere condolences to the Mongolian boxing family following Mr. Bandi Damdinjav passed away
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and Vice-President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Mr. Serik Konakbayev, furthermore the whole ASBC management is sending their sincere condolences to the Mongolian boxing family following their top national coach Mr. Bandi Damdinjav passed away at the age of 70 last night.
Mr. Bandi Damdinjav was member of the Mongolian national boxing team between 1970 and 1976 and he competed two editions of the Olympic Games. As a boxer his main result was a silver from the 1975 Asian Boxing Championships but as a coach he had several winners from the international competitions.
He led the Mongolian boxing team at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games where Enkhbat Badar-Uugan achieved title at the bantamweight. Mr. Bandi Damdinjav worked as head coach by the time of the Milan 2009 AIBA World Boxing Championships where Mongolia captured one gold medal, one silver and one bronze. At the very last time he supported the Mongolian boxers in the ringside at the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships.
