Mr. Serik Konakbayev and ASBC congratulate to the re-elected President in Croatia Mr. Bono Bosnjak
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Serik Konakbayev, furthermore the whole management of the Asian Boxing Confederation congratulate to the re-elected President of the Croatian Boxing Federation Mr. Bono Bosnjak who will be continuing serve the country’s boxing life in the upcoming four years. Vice-President Mr. General Mladen Mikolcevic and General Secretary Mr. Marko Marovic were both re-elected.
President of the Croatian Boxing Federation Mr. Bono Bosnjak received the country’s highest state sport award in Zagreb last December. The “Franjo Bucar” Award is for exceptional achievements and significant contribution to the development of the sport in Croatia and Mr. Bono Bosnjak is the first boxing official in the country who received this honour.
Mr. Bono Bosnjak’s efforts are great commitment for the sport in Croatia and he is one of the most important person among the country’s sport persons. During his Presidency Croatia developed well in our sport and claimed its first historical medal in the boxing tournament of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Croatia proved top performance in the recent two years in our beloved combat sport which is the result of their hard work.
Croatia could send two boxers to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and among them Filip Hrgovic was able to get bronze medal at the super heavyweight (+91kg). The 25-year-old Croatian boxer took the gold also in the 2015 EUBC European Confederation Boxing Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria which was also a historical step in the country’s boxing life under Mr. Bosnjak’s Presidency.
