Mr. Rajiv Shrestha – The atmosphere of the Asian Games is fantastic in Jakarta

The boxing tournament of the Asian Games is running in the Indonesian capital where Nepal is attending with record number of eight boxers. We asked Mr. Rajiv Shrestha who is the Deputy Secretary General of the Nepali National Olympic Committee about his opinions of the Asian Games. Mr. Rajiv Shrestha is following the boxing event of the Asian Games from the venue hall.
“I feel fantastic here in the boxing tournament of the Asian Games which is our big show and the most important competition in 2018. The atmosphere is fantastic, I feel the importance of the multisport event in the venue hall. The local organizers absolutely gave in everything therefore I am satisfied with all aspects of the Asian Games.
This is a very competitive tournament and all boxers are fought well for their respective countries in the first competition days. All of the attending athletes are well prepared and following their strongest ever preparation I saw several world class boxers here in the Asian Games in Jakarta. To be honest I am expecting some new champions will be crowned in the women and men weight categories in Jakarta.
Nepal Boxing Federation sent eight boxers to the Asian Games which is a superb effort from our country. The strength and the physical conditions are the biggest positive things of the Nepali boxers, they are all working seriously hard in their trainings to reach the level of the best athletes in their weight classes.
The training facilities, the equipments and our possibilities are our biggest issues in Nepal. We have got good coaches but there is not any national training camp in our country. We have to improve a lot of aspects of this sport in Nepal,” said Mr. Rajiv Shrestha in the venue of the Asian Games.
