Mr. Mustafa Abbas and Mr. Maruf Urdushev were the best referee and judge in Astana
The ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships was a remarkable event for all of the participants, coaches, officials and R&Js in Astana, Kazakhstan. Following all of the contests, Egypt’s Mustafa Abbas and Uzbekistan’s Maruf Urdushev were named as the best referee and judge of the ten-day long competition.
The ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships recorded nearly 350 bouts in Astana and the competition was busy for the referees and judges who all worked hard to keep the highest standard in the competition.
It is a tradition in the Asian Boxing Confederation that the best referee and judge awards are presented after the best boxers trophies in each competition. The Technical Delegate of the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships, Mr. Walid Jarrar of Jordan and the Evaluator of the event, Mr. John Waith of Wales presented the best R&J awards in Astana.
Egypt’s Mr. Mustafa Abbas was selected to work in seven final bouts as a referee and he has done perfect job in the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships. The Egyptian referee was involved to several previous editions of the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships and those experiences in our continent supported him to win this important recognition.
Uzbekistan has several outstanding referees and judges and among them, Mr. Maruf Urdushev received the right to work in Astana. The Uzbek was announced as the Best Male Referee & Judge in the 2023 ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Astana a half year ago and he celebrated his next success, receiving the Best Judge Trophy in the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships a few days ago.
