Mr. Kusal Gunasekara appointed into a new position in Sri Lankan Boxing

The President of the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka, Dr. Anuruddha Shanaka Bandara appointed its new Assistant Media Director, Mr. Kusal Gunasekara.

Mr. Kusal Gunasekara started his connection with our sport as a boxer in Sri Lanka in 2006 where he had more than 150 bouts as a child and a teenager. He earned a silver medal in the light heavyweight class at the 2012 Junior National Championships.

He worked as Referee & Judge in several competitions in the past which means he has strong connections to boxing in several areas. He is a boxing enthusiast in Sri Lanka and well-deserved his new position to support the daily work of the Boxing Association.

Mr. Kusal Gunasekara works as an online manager at the biggest classified website in Sri Lanka at www.lkman.lk. He worked in the past with other companies as corporate business manager, strategic advisor and advertising areas.

He is also a key person in the PEO Sports in Sri Lanka which covered the previous National Championships, Layton Cup and Clifford Cup. PEO Sports spread the live broadcast throughout Sri Lanka during these events to popularize boxing in the South Asian country.

Sri Lanka will be the host of the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships in Colombo on May 10-24 where Mr. Kusal Gunasekara will arrange the local media broadcasts, news and he will also cooperate with the Asian Boxing Confederation.
