Mr. Jahangir Riaz – I am impressed about the development of boxing and its changing image

Mr. Jahangir Riaz is the Managing Director of the Green Hill Company which is the official supplier of the equipments at the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. Mr. Jahangir Riaz replied to Asian Boxing Confederation’s questions and summarized her first impressions about the event.
“I was very curious before the start of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships as I have not been any Asian events in the recent 10 years. I was really impressed about the developments, the attitude and the environment of this competition. Thailand is the fantastic host of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships and the venue is impressive.
I recognized the level of the boxers is amazing in Asia and more nations are competitive in Asia. We have 34 nations here in Bangkok with more than 300 boxers and these figures are different than in the past. The ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships is now definitely a top event in the world’s boxing life.
ASBC and AIBA are working differently than in the past. In comparison to the last decade boxing changed significantly and the development is significantly. Mr. Anas Alotaiba and his team are working well to change the image of boxing.
The main differences besides to the strength of the competition are the friendly environment, the helpful people in the boxing, the more professional employees and staff members. I can ask anything from their staffs and I know I will be supported.
Boxing works as a family and I mentioned this fact also IOC members to support the development of boxing. Following my experiences I am sure boxing will have totally different image in 2020-2021.
My grandfather had a company with 1,000 workers but I decided to build up a new brand and strategy. We have offices in each continent including in Russia, in Norway, in Germany, in China, in the United States. We have several new products and tightened our world to football and other team sports as well,” said Mr. Jahangir Riaz in the venue of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.
