Mr. Jaber Muhsen – I believe all experts will be recognizing Kuwait’s developments already in 2020

Mr. Jaber Muhsen is the Secretary General of the Kuwait Boxing Federation who was elected as ASBC Executive Committee member in the ASBC General Assembly a few days ago. As a former boxer he has been following the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.
Kuwait Boxing Federation re-joined to the boxing map a few months ago following their suspension and attends in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships with a new team. Their official Mr. Jaber Muhsen introduced Kuwait’s boxing life to our stakeholders and followers.
“I am impressed about the environment, the venue and all aspects of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships here in Bangkok. The Thai LOC worked well before this competition and I would like say a big thank you for their hospitality and also to ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba’s support to our country.
The level of the boxers is superb in this competition and I saw plenty of big champions during the preliminaries. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are Asia’s top nations but I think there are more countries which are on the top level in this event. The Kazakh women team is one of my favourites in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.
Kuwait Boxing Federation had four years of suspensions and after those dark periods we are trying to re-invent ourselves. All of our previous national team members retired or turned into different martial arts in the recent four years.
We are looking for a new head coach to our national team but in our clubs we have coaches from Georgia, Morocco, and Egypt. Currently we have more than 400 boxers in all age groups and 12 clubs are members of the Kuwait Boxing Federation.
Our clubs will be trying to involve female boxers in the future following the Hijab has been approved by the AIBA Executive Committee. I really hope that UAE’s and Bahrain’s exemplars at the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships to develop female boxing will be a start of a new era in the Arabic countries.
We have 12 national events in Kuwait one per each month to increase the level of the experiences of our boxers. Kuwait’s boxing has got potential and I believe all of the people will be recognizing our developments already in 2020. I would like to see Kuwait’s flag everywhere in each AIBA and ASBC competitions.
I boxed from 1983 until 1996 so I know what the boxers need in Kuwait. We have the Governmental support to develop the sport and I will be adding all of my efforts to reach our goals. Our General Assembly will be held short after the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships on May 5.
We will be hosting the ASBC Asian Confederation Schoolboys Boxing Championships in the first week of August which is our great comeback to the sport. Our participation in the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament could be possible but we will definitely go to the Indonesian President’s Cup and to the AIBA World Boxing Championships to Russia,”
said Kuwait’s boxing official Mr. Jaber Muhsen in Bangkok.
