Mr. Abdullah Sattari – We are planning to send our developing Afghan boxers to all ASBC events in 2019

President of Afghanistan Boxing Federation Mr. Abdullah Sattari arrived to the ASBC General Assembly firstly but he stayed in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships to follow the performance of their boxers. Mr. Sattari answered the Asian Boxing Confederation’s questions in the Huamark Indoor Stadium and summarized his opinions about the event.
“This is the first time when Afghanistan could send almost a full team after a long break to an Asian Boxing Championships. We arrived to Bangkok with nine boxers to the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.
I am satisfied with Ramish Rahmani who already won two contests in the event and we had four victories within two days. We have a young team now who need still a lot of experiences to reach our goals.
We offered money prizes to our boxers who will be getting medals here in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships to raise their motivation. I invested money to develop boxing in Afghanistan and I hope it will be paid off already in 2020.
We have a good team now and some of our boxers who remained at home are also strong enough to compete internationally. We are planning a training camp in Russia soon and our team will be attending in the Indonesian President’s Cup on July.
The AIBA World Boxing Championships is one of our key events in 2019 and before the Ekaterinburg competition we already arranged to our boxers a superb training camp in Grozniy, Chechnya.
We are planning also to send teams to all ASBC Asian Boxing Championships this year. The ASBC Asian Confederation Schoolboys Boxing Championships is a new event but we have four amazing young hopes who all could be medallists in Kuwait.
I know we have the potential to qualify to the boxing tournament of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games,”
said Afghanistan Boxing Federation’s President Mr. Abdullah Sattari in the venue of the event.
