Mongolia’s Nurlan Askhar delivered the main sensation of Day2 at the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup

The 7th edition of the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup continued with its second competition day in the capital city of the Central Asian boxing power in Nur-Sultan. Mongolia’s Nurlan Askhar delivered the main sensation of Day2 after his success over Algeria’s No.1 Mohamed Flissi.
The gold, silver and bronze medalists will be received money prizes at the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup. The following nations are attending in the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup in Nur-Sultan: Algeria, Bulgaria, China, Georgia, India, host Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Philippines, Russia, Syria, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The Mongolian boxer, who has got strong Kazakh roots, exceeded all of the previous expectations and he was not only competitive for the North African but he won their narrow fight in Nur-Sultan. Askhar defeated the highest ranked boxer during his whole career and advanced to the next stage of the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup.

AIBA World Champion Kairat Yeraliyev joined to the last four at the 57kg weight class
Kazakhstan’s Kairat Yeraliyev was gold medallist in the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships but since then he was not able to repeat that peak performance in the international events. The 29-year-old Kazakh boxer felt the rhythm well enough once again and eliminated a dangerous rival in Nur-Sultan, India’s Kavinder Singh Bisht and advanced to the last four in the event. Kazakhstan’s Incheon 2014 Asian Games winner Ilyas Suleimenov, Uzbekistan’s Jakarta 2018 Asian Games winner Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov and Almaty region’s experienced Rustam Rustamov joined to the semi-finals as well.

Tajikistan’s ASBC Asian Champion Bakhodur Usmonov is in the semi-finals at the light welterweight (63kg)
Tajikistan’s Bakhodur Usmonov is in superb form and he continued his amazing winning path in the quarter-finals of the light welterweight (63kg) in Nur-Sultan. The defending ASBC Asian Champion and Shopokov Memorial Tournament winner was too quick for Kazakhstan’s WSB Team Champion Dilmurat Mizhitov and eliminated one of his main rivals in Nur-Sultan. India’s Shiva Thapa bowed out another top Kazakh hope Sanatali Toltayev in the quarter-finals while Kyrgyzstan’s Jakarta 2018 Asian Games quarter-finalist Argen Kadyrbek Uulu has done a second sensational triumph and eliminated Uzbekistan’s Kamronbek Eshmatov on Day2.

Uzbekistan’s Rajabboy Atanazarov opened the event in confidence
Uzbekistan’s Rajabboy Atanazarov was gold medallist in the 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships and received the right to represent his country in the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup. The 20-year-old Uzbek middleweight (75kg) boxer dominated his opening fight against India’s former ASBC Asian Junior Champion Prayag Chauhan proving his top skills. The defending ASBC Asian Champion of this division Tursynbai Kulakhmet of Kazakhstan was too quick for Kyrgyzstan’s 19-year-old Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu and also advanced to the quarter-finals as Atanazarov.

Kazakhstan’s Bekzat Nurdauletov and Yerik Alzhanov returned to the light heavyweight (81kg) with successes
Kazakhstan’s Bekzat Nurdauletov claimed silver medal at the heavyweight (91kg) in their National Championships and the 21-year-old boxer decided to return to the light heavyweight (81kg). Nurdauletov had a tough opponent his AIBA Youth World Champion teammate Nurbek Oralbay but he was able to manage his success on Day2. Kazakhstan’s Yerik Alzhanov claimed silver medal in the 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships and also returned to the light heavyweight (81kg) as Nurdauletov. The 28-year-old Alzhanov had also a tough opponent but he was slightly better than Tajikistan’s Shabbos Negmatulloev.
