Mongolia, Uzbekistan, China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan all have finalist at the 23rd Bekzat Sattarkhanov Youth Memorial Tournament

Mongolia’s Lkham Tsendbaatar, Kyrgyzstan’s Milana Milana Shikhshabekova, China’s Adite, and Kazakhstan’s Rassul Assankhanov are among the finalists at the 23rd Bekzat Sattarkhanov Memorial Tournament in the city of Turkistan.
Turkistan is located in the southern part of Kazakhstan and the historic city is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The boxers who were born in 2007 and in 2008 are eligible to participate in the Bekzat Sattarkhanov Youth Memorial Tournament this year.
The competition is dedicated to Mr. Bekzat Sattarkhanov who was gold medallist in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games but he died in a car crash a few months later of his glory before his 20th birthday.
Mongolia’s ASBC medallist Lkham Tsendbaatar eliminated Kazakhstan’s Madira Zhumakhan in the quarter-final of the light flyweight (50kg) and she continued her wining path against another local favourite, Aiym Tankibayeva. Her success means that she can meet for the title with Kazakhstan’s Sila Bybolsynkyzy who eliminated her Uzbek rival.
Kyrgyzstan’s Milana Shikhshabekova not only won her quarter-final bout in Turkistan but she managed to join the finals after her next hectic challenge. The 18-year-old Kyrgyz bowed out Shymkent’s Zhadyra Kaltay and she will now meet for the title Uzbekistan’s Nilufar Khamdamova at the bantamweight (54kg).
China’s new youth sensation, the Xinjiang-based Safiya Samat was stopped by Zhanel Imantayeva at the women’s featherweight (57kg) but her teammate, Adite joined the final of the lightweight (60kg) in Turkistan.
Uzbekistan’s Zukhro Rustamova had a tough battle against Togzhan Istybay at the women’s light welterweight (63kg) but she managed her path to the final. Another experienced Uzbek girl, Asselya Tulegenova also secured her final spot, she eliminated Kazakhstan’s Araylym Alimbergen at the welterweight (66kg).
Dias Alpysbay was excellent in his previous tournaments but he suffered a loss to Nurkhan Kumarbekov at the minimumweight (48kg) therefore he can face for the gold medal Odilshokh Kholimov of Uzbekistan.
One of the top finals in the men’s part of the competition will be held at the light heavyweight (80kg) between two strong Kazakhs, the ASBC Asian Junior Champion Timur Taybekov and Igor Solovyev.
Kazakhstan’s Rassul Assankhanov was member of the youth national team already in 2024 and he needed less than three minutes to stop Yaroslav Masleyev at the heavyweight (92kg). The Asian Junior bronze medallist Vladislav Samozhonov shined in the super heavyweight (+92kg) and he will now face the star Beksultan Kairatuly in the final.
