Mongolia and South Korea signed two-year long partnership to develop their boxing life

Mongolia and South Korea have got excellent relationship in and out of boxing rings therefore the two nations signed a two-year long partnership to increase their possibilities, developments and create common boxing programs.

The Mongolians and the South Koreans negotiated first in Seoul a few weeks ago which was their opening discussions about the partnership. Their second meeting was held in Mongolia’s capital in Ulaanbaatar and both parties agreed the point of views and signed the memorandum of partnership.

Mr. Dashdemberel Bat-Erdene is the President of the Mongolian Boxing Federation who signed the agreement with the South Korean delegation. The First Vice-President of the Mongolian Boxing Federation, Beijing 2008 Olympic Champion Mr. Enkhbat Badar-Uugan also attended in the meetings who is a national icon in the country. Both parties signed the contract which will effect in the upcoming two years and it is an excellent exemplar for transnational relationships.

Ulaanbaatar hosted the 2019 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships last November which was Mongolia’s first big organization since the 2012 ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships. The Mongolian Boxing Federation has got also the Ulaanbaatar International Box Cup as a yearly activity on the ASBC calendar.

Mongolia qualified one male boxer for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games through the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event. Their Asian Games silver medallist Chinzorig Baatarsukh qualified at the men’s lightweight (63kg) and can prepare to his second Olympic Games after Rio de Janeiro.

South Korea has got already two girls in the entry list of the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games following their performance in the Amman event. Guwahati 2017 AIBA Women’s Youth World Champion Im Ae Ji (57kg) and Asian Games winner and two-time ASBC Asian Women’s Champion Oh Yeon Ji (60kg) are their high hopes in the Olympics.
