March 25 is the last registration day for the upcoming IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships which will take place in Istanbul on May 6-21
The new 12th edition of the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will take place in Istanbul, Turkey on May 6-21. The third version of the team delegations handbook issued and sent to all National Federation. Tomorrow, March 25 is the last day to register to the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships.
Boxers who were born between 1981 and 2002 are eligible to attend in the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships. The event was postponed from December 2021 therefore the age groups of the competition relates to last year’s ages.
The competition period of the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships is May 9-20. The finals of the main female event of the year have divided into two parts to attract the crowd and the media. The IBA Congress will take place on May 13-14 in Istanbul, and on those days, only evening sessions are in the official program of the competition. The Sinan Erdem Dome will be the competition venue which has the capacity of 16,000 seats.
The first Women’s World Boxing Championships featured in Scranton, United States in 2001 following the female part of the sport officially approved. Ten further editions were held in Antalya, Podolsk, New Delhi twice, Ningbo, Bridgetown, Qinhuangdao, Jeju, Astana, and Ulan-Ude. The last edition of the Women’s World Boxing Championships took place in Ulan-Ude, Russia on October 2019.
