Manaubayev, Bekbauov and Kurbonov amazed the crowd in the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament on Day2

The 20th anniversary edition of the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament produced a superb second competition day in Kostanay, North Kazakhstan. A local boxer Damir Manaubayev was impressed on Day2, but Nurbolat Bekbauov and Tajikistan’s Ramoil Kurbonov were also excellent in Kostanay.
The Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament is an important preparation event before the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia this November. Altogether 105 boxers have been there in the general weigh-in and will be boxing for the medals and prizes.
This strong men’s youth competition was named by Ural and Korgan Aitenov. Kostanay is located in the Northern part of Kazakhstan and has been hosting the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in the recent 19 years.
Boxers who were born in 2001 or in 2002 are eligible to attend in the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in Kostanay. The contests of the light flyweight (49kg) are also began in Kostanay
The light flyweight (49kg) is very strong in Kazakhstan’s current youth boxing life but Temirlan Aytan is a relatively unknown boxer in this category. In spite of his lack of international experiences he defeated Karagandy’s Almaz Omarov winning the bout by split decision. A local boxer Damir Manaubayev lives and trains in Kostanay and he felt the support of the crowd to beat Nur-Sultan’s Alikey Seylbek on Day2.

Italy’s Michele Baldassi impressed at the flyweight (52kg) in Kostanay
Kazakhstan’s Pavlodar-based Makhmet Tolegenov won the first contest of the whole Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament on Day1 and defeated his second rival Daniyar Raushan as well. Italy’s EUBC European Junior Champion Michele Baldassi is a sensational talent in our sport who dominated his second fight as well beating Kostanay’s Chingiz Idrisov by unanimous decision. Kyrgyzstan’s Nurseyit Ashirmamatov eliminated a gold medal contender Uzbekistan’s Jamshid Tukhtamurodov in the opening day and continued his winning path against Russia’s Oleg Smirnov on Day2.

Nurbolat Bekbauov won the narrowest fight of the bantamweight (56kg)
The narrowest success of the whole second competition day was achieved by Nurbolat Bekbauov who defeated Uzbekistan’s Shakhboz Yunusaliev in a superb but hectic contest in Kostanay. Nur-Sultan’s Amirbek Toksanbayev had a strong rival in the second competition day but he was able to manage his win over Akilbek Mukhtarov controlling all of the three rounds. Russia’s Danil Ryabchenkov also has done a spectacular success and defeated Pavlodar’s Mukhamedzhan Ashimtayev on Day2.

Boranuly and Kamalidinov continued their strong performance at the light welterweight (64kg) in Kostanay
The light welterweight (64kg) is also same busy category as the flyweight (52kg) in the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in Kostanay with the participation of 16 boxers. Taraz-based Dinmukhamed Boranuly eliminated Tajikistan’s Shamser Saidov on Day1 and he had another tough but winning battle against Italy’s Constantin Ilas Remus. Kyrgyzstan’s Muhammad Kamalidinov had enough international experiences to beat Kazakhstan’s Askhat Bolatov first and spent less than three minutes in the ring on Day2 when the referee confirmed his RSC success over Aktau’s Islambek Sultangali.

Tajikistan’s Ramoil Kurbonov proved his talent at the middleweight (75kg)
Tajikistan’s Ramoil Kurbonov competed in high number of international events in the recent two years and he is ready to do big things in the major events as well in 2019. The 18-year-old Tajik middleweight (75kg) boxer had to face with Kostanay’s Ilya Medyanik and shocked the local favourite with his effectiveness and footwork. Kurbonov landed more punches than his Kazakh opponent and advanced to the semi-finals in the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament. Two Kazakh boxers as Bekbolat Abdikerim, Odil Sattibekov and Russia’s Konstantin Korolyov also won their contests on Day2.
