Lkham Tsendbaatar and Manel Tsendbaatar were the best boxers at the 7th Mongolian Children National Games

Following the Mongolian Olympic Start National Boxing Championships, their next competition was the 7th Children National Games which took place in Bayankhongor.  Multiple national champions such as Lkham Tsendbaatar and Manel Tsendbaatar both earned their gold medals in the Games.

Bayankhongor, which is located in the southwest of the country, is at an elevation of 1859m above the sea level and perfect for mountainous trainings and competitions. The Mongolian Children National Games was for the 2007 and 2008 born female and male boxers in the province of Bayankhongor.

Twenty teams registered to participate in the 7th Mongolian Children National Games, several of the country’s 21 provinces attended in Bayankhongor province. Altogether 174 young boxers including 69 female and 105 male will compete for the medals and titles in the Children National Games.

The women boxers were able to participate in eight weight categories: 44kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg and +57kg. The male boxers competed for 10 titles in Bayankhongor: 44kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg and +63kg.

Amina Azjargal was gold medallist at the 2022 Mongolian Junior National Championships and moved up to the pinweight (46kg) successfully where she bagged the title in Bayankhongor. Odongoo Naransolongo stopped her first and second rivals easily but she had to do her very best to beat Anar Enkhbayar in the final of the flyweight (50kg).

Lkham Tsendbaatar is one of the best future hopes in this age group and she continued her impressive winning series in the national level. She won her last three national events and defeated all of her four rivals in Bayankhongor including Anujin Tumurkhuyag in the final of the light bantamweight (52kg).

Anudari Battsetseg moved back to the bantamweight (54kg) following her silver medal in 2022 which she switched into gold after beating Yalguun Chintuya. Maral Ganzorig (57kg) and Enkhgerel Gerelmunkh (+57kg) dominated their weight classes in the Games.

Following Munkhjavkhlan Suvdaa’s (44kg) and Davgadorj Bat-Ireedui’s (46kg) busy successes in their weight classes, an experienced boxer won the light flyweight (48kg). Tuguldur Sarankhuu moved up two categories since last year but he had the speed and strength to beat his rivals in Bayankhongor.

Nanzad Tuvshinjargal was silver medallist at the 2022 Mongolian Junior National Championships and this time he earned a gold medal stopping his final opponent, Munkh-Erdene Batnyam. Manal Tsendbaatar is the best male junior boxer in Mongolia which he proved in the featherweight (57kg) final against Anar Batjargal earning his next national success.

Temuujin Javkhlan earned a bronze medal in the last junior national event and he had the experience to win the light welterweight (63kg). Tengis Dalantai also has medals from the previous national events and he impressed in the heaviest weight class.

The 7th Mongolian Children National Games was a selection event for the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships.
