Kyrgyzstan’s Muso Teshebayev named as Best Boxer in the Murataliev Junior & Schoolboys Memorial Tournament

The 5th edition of the Murataliev Junior & Schoolboys Memorial Tournament was held in the city of Talas, Kyrgyzstan where besides to the host country Kazakhstan and Tajikistan also claimed gold medals. Kyrgyzstan’s biggest future hope in the 2001 age group Muso Teshebayev was awarded the Best Boxer Trophy in the Murataliev Junior & Schoolboys Memorial Tournament.
The venue was the GazProm Sport Complex in Talas which is located in northwestern Kyrgyzstan in the Talas River Valley between two mountain ranges. Altogether record number of 229 boxers competed in the Murataliev Memorial Tournament, among them 90 were schoolboys and 139 were juniors in Talas.
Boxers who were born in 2001-2002 were competed in the junior age group in fourteen weight classes. Athletes who were born in 2003-2004 attended for the medals in the schoolboys age group in eleven weight classes. The competition was the first selection event in Kyrgyzstan before the 2017 main competitions while some of the boxers could be also there in the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
Baktybek Sadirbek Uulu was born in 2002 and became Schoolboys National Champion in Kyrgyzstan this year therefore his gold medal in the Murataliev Memorial Tournament was not a surprise. After beating Tajikistan’s Akram Dadadjanov and Kyrgyzstan’s Nuraly Anaraliyev he controlled his final fight against his teammate Sultan Asankul Uulu at the gold medal bout of the 42 kg.
Kalys Akelbayev won gold medal at the Kenzhebek Akelbayev Junior Tournament one year ago when he was too strong for his opponents at the 40 kg weight class. The 15-year-old boxer came from a boxing family and dominated his gold medal bout against Kyrgyzstan’s Azamat Edilov of Kochkor at the Light Flyweight class (48 kg).
Astashenkov Junior Tournament winner and Akelbayev Junior Tournament gold medallist Muso Teshebayev of Kyrgyzstan competed at the Children of Asian Games at the Pinweight class (46 kg) in Yakutsk, Russia in July and since then he moved up to the Flyweight class (50 kg). The 15-year-old talent stopped Kyrgyzstan’s Abdumalik Sumaza in the semi-final and overwhelmed Kazakhstan’s Nurtore Nurkerimov in the gold medal bout in Talas.
Akelbayev Junior Tournament winner Umar Kubanychbek Uulu was bronze medallist at the Flyweight class (50 kg) in the Astashenkov Junior Tournament in Bishkek five months ago but since then he moved up to the Lightweight class (60 kg). The 15-year-old boxer was in different level than his opponents and after his serious combinations the referee confirmed his TKO success over Kazakhstan’s Kuanysh Abdugali in the final.
Osh region’s 14-year-old talent Baygazy Malik Uulu won the gold medal at the Kyrgyz Schoolboys National Championships and continued his winning path also in the Murataliev Memorial Tournament. Osh region’s pride was amazing against Bishkek’s No.1 Dastan Ormonov and won his next gold medal. The final verdict of the bout of the competition was unanimous decision to Baygazy Malik Uulu.
The first gold medal among the schoolboys boxers in the Murataliev Memorial Tournament was achieved by Tajikistan’s Abubakr Babadjanov who had a narrow success over Kyrgyzstan’s Aibek Mamatov in the quarter-final but dominated his semi-final against Kazakhstan’s Yersain Nurzhan in the semi-final. The 13-year-old Tajik talent had to do his very best to beat Kyrgyzstan’s Islam Ernest Uulu for the gold medal.
Kazakhstan’s Erkhan Abbas and Islam Makhashev won gold medals after Babadjanov in the city of Talas among the schoolboys boxers which were their first international titles during their career. Erlan Yesenkulov was only bronze medallist in the Kyrgyz Schoolboys National Championships at the 38 kg in May but this time he won the gold medal after beating his teammate Aliakbar Askarov.
Bishkek’s Sagyn Satybaldy Uulu was also bronze medallist in the Kyrgyz Schoolboys National Championships in May and since then he moved up two weight classes. The Pinweight class (46 kg) boxer had a great final round against Tajikistan’s super talented Davud Makhkamov and claimed gold medal in Talas. Kazakhstan’s Sultan Babakhanov and Kyrgyzstan’s Bekbol Murasbekov also proved top performance in the competition.
