Kyrgyz schoolboys national tilt crowns 15 champs
Aimed at finding young gems, the Kyrgyz Schoolboys National Championships for 13 and 14-year-old boxers concluded recently with the 205 enthusiastic aspirants showing off their talent over five days of competition at Kozhomkul Sports Hall in the capital city of Bishkek.
A total of 15 promising fighters from different cities and regions were hailed as champions including some notable names such as Delil Toktogulov of Chui Region and Alikhan Bilalov of Bishkek.
The 14-year-old Toktogulov displayed one of the most sensational performances in the national tourney after prevailing in all his three matches via RSC in the schoolboys heavyweight (+70kg) category.
For his part, the 13-year-old Bilalov, who earned the Best Boxer award in the 2nd Adylkan Bekbolotov Schoolboys Memorial Tournament, continued to exhibit his potential by emerging atop the 37kg class.
The tournament was held under the auspices of the Boxing Federation of Kyrgyzstan.
