Kostanay will host three international tournaments in 2024
The Kazakhstan National Spartakyad has just finished in Astana but the country will host still further events in the upcoming period.
Kostanay is one of the important boxing regions in Kazakhstan and their management already decided to host three international competitions in 2024. Mrs. Svetlana Mahleyt is the engine and the main organizer of these events which have been added to the 2024 Boxing Calendar.
Their first competition in 2024 will be the annual Aleksandr Miroshnichenko Junior Memorial Tournament. The competition will be held for the 2008 and 2009 born boxers in Kostanay between April 22 and 28. The junior competition will be held in 14 weight classes: 44kg, 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg.
The Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament will be taking place on July 15-21 next year and boxers who were born in 2006 and in 2007 are eligible to participate Kostanay’s second competition. The official weight classes in the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament will be the 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg.
The last 23rd edition of the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament were held in Kostanay this July with a success. The top stars of the competition such as Bek Zholdasbek, Adaybek Niyazbay, Nurbek Mursal, Islam Sovetov, Daulet Tulemissov and Nurzhan Duman all won their weight categories in Kostanay. Altogether 108 boxers competed for the 13 titles in the recent edition of the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament four months ago.
The third international competition in Kostanay city will be a new elite tournament which was launched only a few years ago. The competition will be held for the memory of the Honored Coaches of the USSR and KAZSSR who worked for the development of Kostanay’s boxing. The competition remembers to Mr. Valeriy Nikulin, Mr. Vadim Gravitskiy, Mr. Mursal Tazhmakin, Mr. Vitaliy Levshin, Mr. Anton Kim and Mr. Sergey Skripnik.
The Kostanay Coaches Memorial Tournament will be held on September 23-29 and the event is open for the National Federations. The elite male boxers will be able to compete at the 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg weight categories. ASBC champions such as Biybars Zheksen and Yerassyl Zhakpekov were the stars of the 2023 Kostanay Coaches Tournament a few weeks ago but Nurmagambet Yusupov became the lone boxer who defended his throne in this event.
