Kosimova, Zulkaynarova, Samadova retain Tajikistan elite women titles
ASBC Asian medalists Sumaiya Kosimova, Shoira Zulkaynarova and Mizhgona Samadova successfully defended their thrones in the Tajikistan Elite Women’s National Championships 2022 held in the capital city of Dushanbe.
Asian U22 silver finisher Kosimova reigned supreme in the minimumweight (48kg) division anew as she clobbered Mizhgona Nabiyeva in the first final bout of the tournament.
Zulkaynarova, an Asian Elite Championships 2021 bronze winner and IBA Women’s World Championships 2022 quarterfinalist, proved stronger than her fierce rival Nilufar Boboyorova to emerge atop the light welterweight (63kg) class.
Another Asian elite bronze medalist Samadova decimated Diana Muydinova in the featherweight (57kg) gold medal match.
All three of them along with nine fellow national champions earned a chance to represent Tajikistan in the ASBC Asian Elite Championships 2022 scheduled on October 30 to November 13 in Amman, Jordan.
A total of 58 elite women pugilists competed across 12 weight divisions in the national championships which was dominated by Dushanbe with eight gold medals.
