Kornelis Kwangu Langu and Huswatun Hasanah amazed in the second day at the Indonesian President’s Cup

The second competition day of the 23rd edition of the Indonesian President’s Cup was held in Labuan Bajo in one session and with 11 bouts. Among Indonesia’s best boxers, former APB competitor Kornelis Kwangu Langu and Jakarta 2018 Asian Games bronze medallist Huswatun Hasanah both won their contests on Day2.
Altogether 34 women and 55 men boxers will be attending in the Indonesian President’s Cup in Labuan Bajo. The gold, silver and bronze medalists and the best team of the event will be received money prizes at the 23rd President’s Cup. Among the world’s best squads United States of America, India, South Korea, Ukraine, Thailand, Italy, Australia and many others are competing in Labuan Bajo.
The competitors arrived to Indonesia from four different continents as Asia, America, Europe and Oceania also registered to send teams to Labuan Bajo. The host Indonesians will be competing in the President’s Cup with three different female and male teams which could be another selection among them for the later actions.
One of the best Indonesian boxers is ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Kornelis Kwangu Langu who has been supporting their national team since 2013. The 29-year-old light flyweight (49kg) boxer was too strong for his teammate Nicky Dura and won their meeting by unanimous decision.
India’s Swami Neeraj attended in the Semen Trestin Memorial Tournament in Ukraine and in the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament but he is not an experienced boxer yet. The Indian light flyweight (49kg) boxer had to face with Indonesia’s previous President’s Cup winner Mario Blasius Kali and in spite of his lack of experiences, Neeraj surprisingly eliminated the local hero in Labuan Bajo.
Indonesia’s Libertus Gha attended in the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games but he suffered a narrow loss to Ukraine’s AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships competitor Oleksandr Zheleznyak on Day2. In the same light welterweight (64kg) another Indonesian boxer, Daniel Mofo worked better and defeated Nepal’s well-experienced Bhupendra Thapa in a hectic bout winning it by 3:2.
India’s Gee Bee Tournament silver medallist Dinesh Dagar is an experienced welterweight (69kg) boxer who controlled all of the rounds against Australia’s National Champion Terry Nickolas in Labuan Bajo. In another contest in that men’s division South Korea’s Kim Dogyeong was enough strong to beat Afghanistan’s Hussain Amiri on Day2.
Italy’s Francesca Martusciello earned medals in the youth and U22 levels in European continental events and her hard work against Indonesia’s Erniati Ngongo delivered for her a place in the next stage of the women’s lightweight (60kg). Huswatun Hasanah became Indonesia’s female boxing hero at the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games claiming a valuable and historical bronze medal. The 22-year-old Indonesian lightweight (60kg) boxer was in different level than her compatriot Kaihatu Grecia.
