Kholova, Muzaffarova sparkle in Tajikistan youth women’s competition

National team standouts Bibinahashastamo Kholova and Bibijon Muzaffarova emerged as the best boxers in the women’s division of the Tajikistan Youth National Championships that served as a selection for the upcoming IBA Youth World Championships.

Khatlon Region’s 18-year-old star Kholova, who was a quarterfinalist in the ASBC Asian Junior Championships 2019 held in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, remained deadly despite moving up to lightweight (60kg) as she stomped all her foes including Dushanbe’s Mashrab Zhasminai in the final for another national title.

For her part, Sughd Region’s 17-year-old bet Muzaffarova utilized her international experience to dominate the featherweight (57kg) class where she beat Dushanbe’s Amina Isabayeva for the gold medal.

Mekhrangez Izatuloyeva (minimum-48kg), Tojiddin Gulrukhsori (light fly-50kg), Zarnigor Rasulova (fly-52kg), Farakhnoz Karimova (bantam-54kg), Akhmadjon Mavzunai (light welter-63kg), Dilnoza Nurimova (welter-66kg), Amrullo Shukronai (light middle-70kg), Oyshamo Khomidova (middle-75kg), Muborak Yodgorova (light heavy-81kg) and Dilnoza Abdurakhmonova (heavy-+81kg) were the other winners in the national tilt.

The newly-crowned champions earned a chance to represent Tajikistan in the Youth Men’s & Women’s World Championships slated on November 13 to 27 in Alicante, Spain.
