Kazakhstan’s duo Arailym Marat and Dina Zholaman are Asia’s first boxers who succeeded in 2021 at the opening day of the Nations Women’s Cup
The new edition of the Nations Women’s Cup has begun in Sombor which is located in the Northern part of Serbia. Asia’s first boxers who were in action in any international events in 2021, such as Kazakhstan’s duo Arailym Marat and AIBA Women’s World Champion Dina Zholaman both won their contests.
The competition is the first international tournament in 2021 where one of our Asian boxing powers, Kazakhstan returned to with their best women boxers. The Nations Women’s Cup is a strong international female competition where the schoolgirls, junior, youth and elite boxers all can attend in Sombor.
The 10th edition of the Nations Women’s Cup is the first challenge for the girls in the new year where several of the top nations including Russia, Turkey, Morocco and Belarus are also among the participating countries besides to Kazakhstan. The Nations Women’s Cup is a preparation event before the next Olympic Boxing Qualifying Events.
Kazakhstan’s Arailym Marat is a young talent from the country’s capital from Nur-Sultan who achieved silver medal in their 2020 Women’s National Championships two months ago. The Kazakh teenager, who has got more than five years of experiences against top rivals, dominated her opening contest against Serbia’s Kristina Nadj Varga at the elite light flyweight (48kg). She landed the better punches, controlled the contest from the first seconds therefore Marat advanced to the next stage of the event.
Kazakhstan’s Dina Zholaman is member of the national team since 2010 and after 11 years of experiences, she is still in world class shape. Her career highlight is a gold medal from the Astana 2016 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships therefore she is one of the biggest names in the Nations Women’s Cup in Serbia. The 29-year-old experienced boxer defended her throne in Kazakhstan and enjoyed her opening bout against Slovakia’s Kristina Orszaghova. Kazakhstan’s Dina Zholaman was better in all aspects of boxing and won the bout in each scorecard.
