Nuridenov and Zheksen are the best boxers in the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships
Kazakhstan Junior National Championships was held in the city of Oral which is located in the Western region of the huge country. The best junior boxers competed in the National Championships all regions from Kazakhstan and fourteen new talented winners have been crowned in Oral.
Boxers who were born in 2000 and 2001 were eligible to compete in the Kazakhstan Junior National Boxing Championships. Sydney 2000 Olympic Games gold medallist junior coach Yermakhan Ibraimov was satisfied with the performance of their new talents. Among last month’ Akim Prizes Junior Tournament winners six boxers can deliver gold medal in the National Championships as well. The Children of Asia Games will be Kazakhstan’s main junior international competition in 2016 which event will be held in July.
The first gold medal of the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships was achieved by Akim Prizes Junior Tournament winner Bekzat Magzhan of Akmola region who defeated his teammate Timur Kabdemov in the final. Nursultan Nuridenov lost to Russia’s No.1 Mogamed Shamsayev in a big international event last month but the 15-year-old boxer was able to do better in Oral beating Shakhmukhamedali Lesbekov in the final.
Akim Prizes Junior Tournament winner Beybarys Zheksen was born only in 2001 and he is among the juniors since January but the super talented boxer secured his second big success in 2016. Zheksen was too smart for Aibek Dosanov who claimed gold medal in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Tashkent.
Karagandy region’s first gold medal was achieved by Nurbolat Saparbay at the Flyweight class (50 kg) while Akim Prizes Junior Tournament silver medallist Nigmetulla Moldashev proved his talent and won the fifth final in the Nationals. Akim Prizes Junior Tournament winner Sunkar Taldybek defeated Almaty region’s Nurdos Tolebay in the final of the Bantamweight class (54 kg) and claimed his second gold medal in 2016.
Zhandos Kamal lost to Talgat Shaykenov of Akmola region in the final of the Akim Prizes Junior Tournament last month but his main rival was eliminated by Akzhol Abdikhan of Mangystau region in the semi-finals. The 16-year-old Zhandos Kamal eliminated strong Azat Zhanbyrbay in the second semi-finals and continued the winning path against Akzhol Abdikhan in the gold medal bout.
Dildabekov Prizes Tournament silver medallist Azat Asanov won his first major event last month and now he was able to repeat that performance in the Junior National Championships in Oral where he was too smart for Elaman Rakhmetulla of Atyrau region. The gold medal of the Light Welterweight class (63 kg) was achieved by Akim Prizes Junior Tournament winner Yermakhan Zhakpekov in the event.
Astana’s Ayat Marzhikpayev came from a boxing family where his father and elder brothers are all boxers. The talented boxer was finalist in the last edition of the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships but this time he could win the gold after his success over Yersultan Kanzharaly in the final of the Welterweight class (66 kg).
Beken Pernekhan was the lone boxer in the recent two years who could beat Uzbekistan’s current AIBA Junior World Champion and ASBC Asian Junior Champion Timur Merzhanov in an international event last May therefore the 16-year-old boxer was the favourite of the Light Middleweight class (70 kg) in Oral. Pernekhan eliminated Asylbek Kadyrbek in the semi-final and delivered great performance against Nurbek Oralbay in the final as well.
Sagyndyk Toganbay is spending his first year in the junior age group but he was able to beat one of the best Kazakh junior boxer Ruslan Kharchenko in the semi-final and Akim Prizes Junior Tournament winner and Kazakhstan Junior National Championships bronze medallist Gilani Dadayev in the final of the Middleweight class (75 kg).
Aibek Oralbay of Astana claimed gold medal at the Akim Prizes Junior Tournament in Ust-Kamenogorsk last month and continued his winning series against Almaty region’s Elkhan Tabynbayev who was member of the national junior team also in 2015. Akim Prizes Junior Tournament silver medallist Damir Toybay was bronze medallist in the last edition of the Kazakhstan Junior National Championships which he changed into gold in Oral at the Heavyweight class (+80 kg).
