Kazakhstan and India both won seven gold medals in the strong Nations Junior Cup in Serbia

The second edition of the Nations Junior Cup was held in a small Serbian town in Vrbas where our Asian talents impressed the crowd and won more than 50% of the available gold medals in the event. Kazakhstan and India both achieved seven titles in the Nations Junior Cup in Vrbas, Serbia.
Young boxers who were born in 2002 and in 2003 were eligible to compete in the Nations Junior Cup in Vrbas. Almost 200 junior boxers from 24 nations competed in 26 different weight classes at the Nations Junior Cup in Vrbas which competed was launched by the local organizers only in 2017.
Altogether 26 champions were crowned in Vrbas and among them 14 were Asians in the Nations Junior Cup. The first title was achieved by India’s Rajni who defeated Russia’s Anastasia Kiriyenko in the final of the women’s pinweight (46kg). Her teammates such as Naorem Babyrojisana Chanu, Poonam, Arundhati Chaudhary, Khushi and Komal defeated their Russian and Turkish rivals in the finals delivering six gold medals to the Indian women delegation in the Nations Junior Cup.
In the men’s part of the Nations Junior Cup the first title was acquired by India’s Keisham Sanjit Singh who defeated his tough US rival Shamar Canal in the final of the pinweight (46kg). The Indian men junior boxers achieved one gold medal and five of their boxers were silver medallist in Vrbas.
Kazakhstan’s junior men team impressed in the Bornemissza Memorial Tournament in Hungary, in the Emil Zhechev Youth Memorial Tournament and now their boxers shined in the Nations Junior Cup in Serbia. Seven of their men boxers won gold medals in the event defeating strong US and Romanian athletes as well.
Yerbolat Sabyr (50kg), Almaz Uzykhanov (54kg), Sultan Babakhanov (60kg), Nurzhan Amangeldi (63kg), Amir Bolatov (66kg), Bornemissza Junior Memorial Tournament winner Yevgeniy Prikhodko and Amanat Sabyrgali (+80kg) all won their weight classes in the Nations Junior Cup.
