The featherweight (57kg) was the most difficult category with the participation of 19 boxers in the Nationals where Lebap’s Artur Babayev defeated Yhlas Geldibayev of Dashoguz.

Ashgabat’s Abdyrahman Babayev was the favourite at the lightweight (60kg) but he was defeated by Muhammet Nazarov of Dashoguz for the title. Another boxer from the Dashoguz region, Sapa Mamedov (63kg) and Ashgabat’s Ismail Orazmyradov (66kg) won the next gold medals in the event.
