Israellah Bonita Saweho and the ASBC medallist Huswatun Hasanah won their key contests at the Indonesian National Games

The Indonesian National Games continued with exciting sessions in Pematang Siantar City, Sumatra island where Endang, Israellah Bonita Saweho, Huswatun Hasanah and Novita Sinadia were the bests in the women’s bouts.

Finally 31 teams entered to the National Games from all of the most important regions of the country, Java, Sumatra, Maluku, Papua, Bali, Sulawesi, Kalimantan and the capital team from Jakarta as well.

The team from the Aceh region and the Sumatra island squad both contains 20-20 boxers in the National Games. More than 200 boxers, 91 female and 116 male elite pugilists are attending in the new edition of the Indonesian National Games.

The women’s boxers are able to participate from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the light middleweight (70kg) in the Games. The men’s boxers have eleven divisions in the event, they can compete from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the cruiserweight (86kg) in Aceh.

Endang is an experienced national team member in Indonesia and she not only controlled the first round against Lola Wulandari but she stopped her opponent in the second round at the women’s minimumweight (48kg).

The Mohamed VI Trophy quarter-finalist Israellah Bonita Saweho has strong family connections to our sport and she used her excellent rhythm to beat Glesia Sandra Mauri at the women’s light flyweight (50kg). Stevani Malaor was the second winner of the session in this weight class, she stopped Jeaneth Gracia Jaha of Bali with strong combinations.

The women’s bantamweight (54kg) is a busy category in the National Games, four girls celebrated their victories in the third session of the event. Among them DKI Jakarta’s Novita Sinadia, their elite national team member, eliminated Lambertina Dewi Lau while Adelin Mayor Sroyer won the closest contests in this weight class.

The Asian Games bronze medallist and ASBC Asian Women’s runner-up Huswatun Hasanah eliminated first Merviana Efrida Nengsih at the women’s light welterweight (63kg) and she continued her winning path against a competitive rival, Ildawati but her main national opponent, Jubaitul also managed her pathway to the next stage of boxing.

The World Championships competitor Yosua Holy Masihor impressed against Aceh’s Muhammad Fahmi Ikhsan at the men’s bantamweight (54kg) and he secured a guaranteed medal in the Games. Rejeki Parsahala Manalu of Sumatra, Muhammad Aimar Kopong and Flanuari Yerikho Daud were the further winners in this weight class.

Bali has a strong team in this Indonesian National Games and one of their hopefuls from the beautiful island, Yulius Babu Eha used his six years of experiences to beat Paulus Berto with a stoppage at the lightweight (60kg).
