Iraq, Jordan and Mongolia prepare for the upcoming ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in European events

The ASBC Asian Men’s & Women’s Elite Boxing Championships will be starting in Dubai later this month but the teams are in full preparation to achieve top results in the continental event. Iraq, Jordan and Mongolia all compete in European international tournaments this week which is their active preparation before the start of the ASBC Asian Men’s & Women’s Elite Boxing Championships.

The forthcoming ASBC Asian Elite Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships relocated from New Delhi, India to Dubai, United Arab Emirates with the same regulations and protocols. The competition’s period is almost the same, starting from the 21st of May and it is extended until the 1st of June in the new venue in Dubai. Both women and men boxers can compete in the United Arab Emirates in 10 weight categories.

Iraq sent boxers to the Victory Day Tournament which is running in Gomel, Belarus and where strong nations such as Russia, Ukraine, the host country’s squads and many others are attending. Iraq’s Kaleel Ibrahim Karwi amazed at the light heavyweight (81kg) and defeated Belarus’ Dzmitry Vishneuski using his speed and strength in that contest. His younger teammate, Moamin Abdulaal Al-Abboodi also opened his campaign in Gomel with a fantastic success over Belarus’ experienced Emil Aliyeu and marched into the next round of the lightweight (60kg).

Jordan and Mongolia sent their best boxers to the 51st edition of the Grand Prix Usti nad Labem which also opened in Europe. The traditional event is one of the strongest European elite international tournaments where France, Spain, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, England, Poland, Sweden, Hungary and other countries are attending this week.

Mongolia’s ASBC Asian Women’s Youth Boxing Championships bronze medallist Yesugen Oyuntsetseg met with Switzerland’s 20-year-older veteran Sandra Brugger and the young hope succeeded over the former medallist. Ahmet Comert Tournament winner Byamba-Erdene Otgonbaatar eliminated Finland’s Muhammad Abdilrasoon in the first contest of the men’s middleweight (75kg). Jordan’s Jakarta 2018 Asian Games bronze medallist and Tokyo Olympian Zeyad Eshaish competes at the middleweight (75kg) in the Grand Prix Usti nad Labem and defeated Austria’s Marcel Meinl in the opening day of the event. His elder brother, Olympic Games quarter-finalist Hussein Iashaish used his aggressive tactic against Spain’s No.1, Cuban-born Emmanuel Reyes but the Spaniard was tactically too experienced for him in their excellent heavyweight (91kg) bout.
