Introducing the new Vice-President of the Asian Boxing Confederation – Mr. Aziz Kozhambetov
Kazakhstan Boxing Federation (KBF) Executive Director Aziz Kozhambetov emerged as the new vice president of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) after getting elected during the second Board Meeting held amid the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament in Phuket last April.
Kozhambetov is an experienced, recognized boxing and business official not just in Kazakhstan but also on Asian level.
After working as chief manager and director in Kazenergy and Atameken Union, respectively, Kozhambetov served as the external relations coordinator of the KBF from 2010 to 2011.
He also worked as the executive director of the ASBC from 2010 to 2014, during which he played a vital role in the confederation’s launching of the Asian Junior Boxing Championships and staging of the Asian Women’s Cup along with other events.
Following his stint as director general of the LLC “Bek Auto Group” which started in 2017, he went back to the KBF in April last year and became a member of the executive bureau as well as an advisor to the president.
Kozhambetov was elected as board member during the Extraordinary Congress of the ASBC in Amman, Jordan last March before being voted as vice president in the Board Meeting led by president Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand.
He is also a member of the ASBC council together with Chunhavajira, Dian Gomes of Sri Lanka, Ali Takleef Shaheed of Iraq and Rasha Mohamed Alkhamis of Saudi Arabia.
Kozhambetov’s term along with the other members of the new ASBC Board of Directors will end in 2024.
