Interview with Supervisor Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib
Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib: Pavlodar’s LOC worked hard for the big success of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships
The Supervisor of the competition Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib shared the most important information, the AIBA rules and the news of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in the Technical Meeting, he attended in the Official Drawing and also in the Press Conference in Pavlodar.
Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib arrived to Pavlodar from Atyrau where he was the Supervisor of the Issatai Taimanov & Makhambet Utemisov Memorial Tournament which event was launched a few years ago. The former President of the Syrian Boxing Federation was interviewed by the Asian Boxing Confederation in Pavlodar.
– “The ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships is a well-organized competition. Kazakhstan has got great experiences in boxing and hosting events therefore we expected the highest level of organization from the Central Asian boxing power. I have arrived from the Issatai Taimanov & Makhambet Utemisov Memorial Tournament from Atyrau to Pavlodar three days before the start of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships.
We have discussed everything with the Pavlodar Regional Boxing Federation and Mr. Azamat Makazhanov and his team worked hard to arrange all of the key points in the competition. To be honest the venue is enough good for a future AIBA World Boxing Championships as well and I hope Pavlodar will be hosting a global event in the near future. In the hall we would be able to place two rings which is a requirement in an AIBA competition.
The hotel is only walking distance to the venue which is very important for all participants while the warm-up areas are also world class. The local organizers have been solving all problems quickly so we are all satisfied with their hard work and hoping Pavlodar is planning to host more events in the future.
The level of the first day was an average in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships but the second and the third day delivered really high level of boxing in Pavlodar. This strong youth competition is getting even more excited in the road to the gold medal bouts.
ASBC hosted the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Tashkent last year and many of those medallists are here in Pavlodar while we have got medallists also from the last two editions of the AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships therefore the level of our youth boxers is amazing. Chinese Taipei had great development in boxing which is showing our continent’s background and potential,” said Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib in Pavlodar.
