International experiences paid off in the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships in Aktobe

The Kazakhstan Youth National Boxing Championships was finished with its 11 finals and strong champions have been crowned in the event. Strong international boxers as Timur Kabdeshov, Talgat Syrymbetov, AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Aibek Dossanov, ASBC Asian Junior Champion Aitzhan Ashirkhan, Azat Asanov and Arnur Akhmetzhanov won their titles in the Kazakhstan Youth National Boxing Championships.
The competition was held in Aktobe which is located in the Western Kazakhstan region. The number of the male boxers was 173 in the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships in Aktobe where the most popular weight classes were the lightweight (60kg) and light welterweight (64kg) where 24-24 athletes attended for the titles.
Eleven weight classes have been held in the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships in Aktobe where the pinweight (46kg) have been added to the other 10 official divisions. Nine different teams claimed at least one gold medal in Aktobe where the medal rankings were won by Almaty Region with their three titles.
Dulat Amantayev won the Kenes Omarov Youth Memorial Tournament in February at the pinweight (46kg) and remained in the lowest category after that national level event. The 18-year-old boxer used his rapid attacks and footwork to beat Dilmukhambet Ibragimov in the first final of the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships.
Akmola’s Youth National Games winner and Emil Zhechev Youth Memorial Tournament winner Timur Kabdeshov attended in the Bangkok 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships as well. He has got strong experiences in the international level since 2016 and arrived to Aktobe as favourite of the light flyweight (49kg) where he demonstrated his technique in the final against Akzhigit Belgibay.
Karagandy’s ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships bronze medallist Talgat Syrymbetov had to meet in the final of the flyweight (52kg) with Children of Asia Games winner Nursultan Nuridenov but he was able to solve that tactical job in Aktobe. Bekzat Sattarkhanov Youth Memorial Tournament winner Galym Mirzatayev claimed only bronze medal in the event.
Almaty Region’s AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Aibek Dossanov moved up to the bantamweight (56kg) and he is trying to regain his place in the top Kazakh youth team. The 17-year-old boxer eliminated Bekzat Sattarkhanov Youth Memorial Tournament winner Aidos Yerzhanuly in the semi-final and defeated another big hope Bekzat Magzhan in the gold medal contest.
Almaty’s defending ASBC Asian Junior Champion Aitzhan Ashirkhan attended in the Emil Zhechev Youth Memorial Tournament with success and did not give any chance to Nurzhan Serikbayev in the final of the lightweight (60kg). Aktobe’s best youth boxer Beket Makhmutov Youth Tournament winner Ali Yesenov impressed in the final of the light welterweight (64kg) where he faced with Nurdos Tolebay.
Emil Zhechev Youth Memorial Tournament silver medallist Azat Asanov is a superb talent at the welterweight (69kg) which is traditionally one of the strongest categories in Kazakhstan. The 18-year-old boxer defeated Kyzyl-Orda’s younger talent Azamat Bektas in the final of the event. Mangystau’s Nuras Zhenis was born in 2001 and he is relatively newcomer in the national events but his skills were enough to beat Children of Asia Games bronze medallist Beken Pernekhan in the final of the middleweight (75kg).
Almaty Region’s Kenes Omarov Youth Memorial Tournament silver medallist Shynarbek Batinuly eliminated his main rivals as Bekzat Sattarkhanov Youth Memorial Tournament winner Bekzat Tanatar in the last eight and Children of Asia Games silver medallist Ayat Marzhikpayev in the semi-final of the light heavyweight (81kg). He continued his winning path in the final against Kuanysh Keulimzhayev.
Dzhambul region’s Arnur Akhmetzhanov was bronze medallist in the Puerto Princesa 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships and did strong performance against Almaty region’s newcomer Galymzhan Zhanarbek in the final of the heavyweight (91kg). Arnur Akhmetzhanov will be in the youth age group still in 2019 and could be a great sensation next year.
Almaty region’s Bekzat Sattarkhanov Youth Memorial Tournament winner Ilyas Musayev was No.2 in the youth ranking in Kazakhstan behind ASBC Asian Youth Champion Damir Toybay and he used the possibility to win the super heavyweight (+91kg) in Aktobe in the absence of his main national rival. The 17-year-old talent had to do his very best in the final against Kostanay’s Oyaz Maulenov but he was able to take the title winning the bout by split decision.
