His Excellency Mr. Turki Bin Abdul Mohsen Alsheikh signed an agreement in Saudi Arabia about the Muhammad Ali Clay Boxing Championships

His Excellency the Chairman of the General Authority for Sports in Saudi Arabia, Mr. Turki Bin Abdul Mohsen Alsheikh, signed an agreement with Comosa organizing the Muhammad Ali Clay Boxing Championship, which includes Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the Super Boxing World Final in Jeddah in May 2018.
The Agreement also includes the establishment of an academy to prepare young Saudi boxers to be at the level of competition for this game. Following the signing ceremony in London, His Excellency Mr. Turki Bin Abdul Mohsen Alsheikh said that this Agreement represents a step towards seeking to spread and diversify the various sports and expand the base of its practitioners, thus contributing to the creation of a generation of champions in the next stage.
“Muhammad Ali Clay is a name that is dear to all of us and one of the sports symbols we cherish in the whole world and in the Islamic world in particular. Hosting of this event is the largest event in the Middle East for this type of sport, which will make us happy. I have confidence that it will be attendance and follow-up will be unprecedented. He stressed that that the Saudi Sports Authority, in coordination with the sports federations are moving to create an exciting and attractive sport in the various games. This kind of sport was not existed in our country before, so we preferred to start with the presence of world champions in such competition”, said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority.
On the other hand, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Sport, Chairman of the Saudi Arabian National Olympic Committee, Mr. Turki Bin Abdul Mohsen Alsheikh, signed an agreement with the Spanish Football League (LIGA), which includes a partnership of sponsorship and marketing, and preparing Saudi players and coaches, through programs established by the Spanish League to raise their capabilities so as to achieve the desired goal of Saudi sport.
Saudi Arabia launched new strategic programs which start in the upcoming months and its end point is the next edition of the Asian Games which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2018. The Saudi Arabians are planning to join to more competitions in the next months and years after their international training camps. Saudi Arabia did a historical participation in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa this August.
