Hashemi opened the evening session with a narrow success while his teammate, Mesbahi’s triumph finished the program
Two promising 16-year-old talents, Ashkan Hashemi won the first while Mohammad Saleh Mesbahi Rouzbahani celebrated the last victory in the evening session of Day3 in Al Ain.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are the participating 26 nations in the event.
The 2008 and 2009 born boxers will be able to compete at the junior age group in Al Ain, UAE. Boxers who were born in 2010 and in 2011 will be eligible to participate in the schoolboys and schoolgirls competition.
Ukraine’s Matvii Savenko moved forward from the first seconds but Iran’s Ashkan Hashemi had the right responses to his actions in the opening round. The Iranian light welterweight (63kg) boxer overcame the Ukrainian several times in the attacks but the contest was still open after two rounds. The Iranian youngster kept his Ukrainian opponent on long in the third round and his outstanding performance guaranteed a tight success for Hashemi.
Iraq’s top junior talent, Yousif Saad Muhey Addin had to meet United Arab Emirates’ Sultan Alshebli who came from a famous local boxing family. The Iraqi moved forward without any stoppage and he demonstrated his power and the technical difference between the two boxers in the first minute. The referee stopped the unequal bout which means that Muhey Addin is also one of the quarter-finalists at the light welterweight (63kg).
Chinese Taipei’s Su Bo Yu used his better footwork in the first round against Mongolia’s Tugs-Erdene Erdenebulgan and he had a tight advantage on the scorecards. Su used the same tactics in the second round and he worked from longer distance better than in the first. Chinese Taipei had several victories in the men’s junior part of the championship and Su Bo Yu became their next winner in Al Ain.
Following the relatively weak performance in the opener, Uzbekistan’s Children of Asia Games silver medallist Sukhrob Rakhmatullayev switched into a higher rhythm in the beginning of the second round and he turned back his light welterweight (63kg) preliminary contest against India’s Jasrit Mor. The next Uzbek, Jasurbek Usmonjonov destroyed United Arab Emirates’ Abdulla Naji’s defence quickly and the local coaches abandoned this welterweight (66kg) contest in the first round.
Tajikistan’s welterweight (66kg) hopeful, Sorbon Nuralizoda looked confident in the first round against Jordan’s Abdallah Toghoz and he continued the same performance until the last gong and he will be able to box for the guaranteed medal as next. Iran’s Amirmohammad Rostampour caught his opponent from Chinese Taipei, Liu Jin Heng in the first round and he finished the job very quickly.
Mongolia’s promising Tamir Davaajav had a brave attempt in the first round to be quicker than Uzbekistan’s Children of Asia Games winner Diyorbek Murodilloyev but that mission was a very hard task for the youngster. The Uzbek stepped into the gas in the beginning of the second round and he had the strength to win their light middleweight (70kg) preliminary bout by RSC.
Turkmenistan’s Sapargeldi Nuryagdyyev is a multiple National Champion in his homeland and all of his family members are boxers. The 16-year-old Turkmen has international experience as well which paid off against United Arab Emirates’ Nahyan Al-Ghafri in the next light middleweight (70kg) bout of the evening session. Nuryagdyyev danced through the whole area of the ring and he enjoyed all moments of this contest which was his brilliant opener in the green city of Al Ain.
Iran’s defending champion, Mohammad Saleh Mesbahi Rouzbahani moved up to the light middleweight (70kg) but he was ready to shine against Jordan’s Zaid Besah in his opener. The referee counted the Jordanian in the second round and Mesbahi had a comfortable opening victory in Al Ain where he is aiming his next Asian title.
