Four AIBA Women’s World Champions have been selected in Kazakhstan to compete at the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships

The management of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation and their head coach announced the line-ups of the women’s national team which will be attending at the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in Dubai. Four former AIBA Women’s World Champions as Nazym Kyzaibay, Dina Zholaman, Valentina Khalzova and Lazzat Kungeibayeva have been involved to the travelling team.

The ASBC Asian Elite Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships will be starting from the 21st of May and it is extended until the 1st of June in the new venue in Dubai. The first competition day is on the 24th of May while the finals are scheduled to take place on the 31st in the United Arab Emirates.

Kazakhstan’s women’s national team claimed only four bronze medals in the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships. Their Nadezhda Ryabets (75kg) is the only girl who qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games through the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event.

Alua Balkybekova joined to the elite national team in 2017 and since then she is Kazakhstan’s best light flyweight (48kg) boxers. Nazym Kyzaibay won two titles at the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in that category but she competes at the Olympic flyweight (51kg) now. The experienced Kyzaibay could be India’s star Chungneijang Mary Kom Hmangte’s main rival in Dubai.

Dina Zholaman was AIBA Women’s World Champion at the bantamweight (54kg) five years ago and after 11 years of experiences in the international events, she is still in top form. Vladislava Kukhta won the national title at the featherweight (57kg) and the 22-year-old boxer will be making her debut in the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships.

Rimma Volosenko won several international tournaments but the lightweight (60kg) boxer was unlucky in the big championships until today. Milana Safronova reached her career highlight at the 2019 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships with a bronze medal and she could be favourite at the light welterweight (64kg).

Valentina Khalzova won the title of the welterweight (69kg) at the 2016 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and returns to the big events in Dubai following her medals in the preparation events. Marina Volnova claimed bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games and the former ASBC Asian Women’s Champion received the right to compete in a major event after many years of break. The team contains still Fariza Sholtay (81kg) and former AIBA Women’s World Champion Lazzat Kungeibayeva (+81kg).
