Former Asian Schoolboys Champions as Abdurasulov and Tulkinov won titles at the Uzbekistan University Boxing Tournament

The Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sports arranged a boxing tournament dedicated to the adoption of the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The head coach of the Uzbek elite national team, Mr. Tulkin Kilichev and the senior coach of the squad, Mr. Rakhmatjon Ruziakhunov both attended in the opening ceremony of the university boxing event.

Around 100 male boxers competed at the Uzbekistan University Boxing Tournament in all of the thirteen categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg).

Bekhruz Kholdarov won the first title of the university event, he defeated Khusanboy Mirasitov of Ferghana at the minimumweight (48kg). Bobur Kuchkarov (54kg) and Ferghana’s Sardor Khakimjonov (57kg) impressed in the next finals of the competition and defeated younger rivals.

The ASBC Asian Junior Champion Farrukh Tulaganov was the main favourite for the gold medal at the lightweight (60kg) but he failed to win his semi-final bout. Doston Masaliyev won the title bout against Azizbek Abdullayev and he is a boxer who need to be watched in the upcoming events as well.

Khumoyunmirzo Abdurasulov achieved an important gold medal at the 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships at the age of 14. The Ferghana region’s boxer defeated all of his rivals at the light welterweight (63.5kg), including Farrukh Rakhmatullayev in the final of the category.

Laziz Tulkinov had the same start in the international stage as Abdurasulov, he claimed a title at the 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City and he moved up to the light middleweight (71kg) in the recent months. The 19-year-old boxer was too smart for Ozodbek Sharofiddinov and he celebrated his first elite gold medal during his career.

One of the former youth national team members, Navo Tamazov was aiming for the title of the middleweight (75kg) but Khusan Rikhsiboyev dominated that category. Mamasoli Mamadaliyev (80kg) and Sukhrob Ilkhomjonov (86kg) also impressed in their final contests.

Diyorbek Uralov is one of the best Uzbek U22 heavyweight (92kg) boxers who competed in various international events therefore he had the routine to beat Ayubkhon Sultankhudjayev. The Belt & Road Tournament silver medallist Arman Makhanov accomplished his goal at the super heavyweight (+92kg), he defeated Ravshan Samadov in the final.
