Darkhan Duisebay is the next Kazakh finalist at the Boxam Tournament

Darkhan Duisebay of Kazakhstan advanced to the finals at the Boxam Tournament in La Nucia, Spain after beating a strong local opponent.
The competition period of the Boxam Elite Tournament is February 4-8 in La Nucia, Alicante region, Spain where 17 countries are participating for the titles. Altogether 166 female and male boxers are competing at the Boxam Tournament in the sunny Alicante region in La Nucia.
Spain’s Frank Martinez had a strong progress in the recent two years and tried to dictate the tempo against Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion Darkhan Duisebay in the battle of the southpaw boxers. The Spaniard increased his speed in the beginning of the second round but the 23-year-old Kazakh had the right responses in time to win their tough semi-final contest by 3:2 split decision.
Kazakhstan’s Daulet Tulemissov achieved a silver medal at the 2022 Youth World Boxing Championships in La Nucia on November 2022 and he returned to the same venue after a break. The Kazakh light heavyweight (80kg) boxer is a strong future hope in the sport and he impressed against one of the best local pugilists, Pablo Coy of Spain but he injured in the second round of their semi-final.
China’s Halimulati Rehemandu worked hard in the recent years to reach the level of the top boxers at the light heavyweight (80kg). He made successful steps in the Boxam Tournament but England’s Oladimeji Shittu was better than the Chinese boxer today. Another Xinjiang-based boxer from China, Aizihaier Tuohongdaji also became a bronze medallist in La Nucia, he reached that strong result at the heavyweight (92kg).
Kazakhstan’s Roksana Gassymova eliminated good opponents on the way to her final to the women’s minimumweight (48kg) and she was well-prepared to the last bout. Gassymova started well in the first round against Slovakia’s Nicole Durikova and she had the advantages on the judges’ scorecards after three minutes. The Slovakian switched her tactics in the first break and her efforts were enough to beat Gassymova in this exciting final bout.
The next Kazakh girl, the ASBC Asian Youth Champion Bakyt Seidish was not enough experienced yet to beat Ukraine’s former World bronze medallist Anastasia Chernokolenko and she earned a silver at the women’s light middleweight (70kg).
