Thailand’s Thanarat Saengphet was bronze medallist in the Belgrade 2021 World Boxing Championships at the age of 19 and he used his long-range tactics well enough to eliminate Kazakhstan’s Elite National Champion Daniyal Sabit in Bangkok.

Uzbekistan’s reigning U22 champs Mukhammadkodir Mamirjonov (fly) and Dilshod Abdumurodov (feather) subdued their opponents to keep their title-retention bids alive in the second edition of the Asian U22 Championship.

The 20-year-old Uzbek looked quicker than China’s Gou Guangshuai and he managed to win his quarter-final bout at the minimumweight (48kg).

Mongolia’s Dorjnyambuu Ganbold surprised Uzbekistan’s Sanjarbek Vakhobov in their quarter-final bout at the bantamweight (54kg) in Bangkok. Ganbold shocked the Uzbek talent and his top performance was enough to beat Vakhobov delivering a surprise on Day3.

Mongolia’s Asian elite bronze winner Gantumur Lundaa came through with a second-round stoppage over Nepal’s Indra Bahadur Sunar for an assured bronze in featherweight. The Elite National Champion 20-year-old Islam Torobayev sealed a medal for Kyrgyzstan after dispatching Thailand’s Thanakon Aonyaem via an RSC victory right in the opening round of their bantamweight (54kg) bout.
