China, Chinese Taipei and Kazakhstan have women’s finalists at the Strandja Memorial Tournament

China, Chinese Taipei and Kazakhstan secured several places in the women’s finals at the 76th edition of the Strandja Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria today.
The Strandja Memorial Tournament is Bulgaria’s main international competition and the oldest elite event worldwide therefore such strong nations as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Chinese Taipei, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria and many others are there.
Kazakhstan’s Aigerim Sattibayeva is an experienced boxer but she is still hungry for the successes therefore she had the focus against Ireland’s Ciara Walsh in the semi-finals. She will now meet for the title Bulgaria’s veteran Sevda Asenova who joined the international boxing competitions still back in 2006.
Kazakhstan’s Anel Sakysh is only 22-year-old but she has already more than five years of international routine in our sport. The Kazakh bantamweight (54kg) boxer eliminated France’s Melissa Bounoua and she can prepare to the upcoming final battle against Turkey’s Nilay Yaren Cam.
Chinese Taipei’s Wu Shih Yi demonstrated her nice technical skills once again in Sofia and she outboxed Turkey’s 18-year-old Youth World silver medallist Pinar Benek. Wu will now meet Kazakhstan’s Aidana Zabynbekova who also moved down to the featherweight (57kg) this year as the boxer from Chinese Taipei.
Kazakhstan’s Rimma Volosenko won several international tournaments during her career including the ASBC Asian Championships. The Kazakh lightweight (60kg) boxer triumphed over Italy’s Rebecca Nicoli and she will meet another experienced European as next, the World bronze medallist Donjeta Sadiku of Kosovo.
Yang Liu is back on track as her veteran teammate in China, Li Qian, and the welterweight (66kg) No.1 used her longer reach well enough against Kazakhstan’s Gaukhar Shaybekova therefore Turkey’s Berfin Kabak will be her final opponent.
Mr. Ko Wen Ming is an excellent coach in Chinese Taipei and his next star pupil, Chen Nien Chin dominated the first round against Turkey’s Nilay Kocyigit and she finished the job in the second. The powerful Chen will be facing for the title of the light middleweight (70kg) with Greece’s Elisavet Konstantinidou in Sofia.
Li Qian had a harder job against Italy’s 12-years-younger Melissa Gemini but she worked well enough to win this middleweight (75kg) semi-final bout in Sofia. The Chinese boxer will now meet Greece’s Vasiliki Stavridou in the final while her teammate, Bu Ridu stopped Turkey’s Rabia Yuceer in the semi-finals of the light heavyweight (81kg).
