Cambodia reveals 6-strong squad for Asian elite tourney
Cambodia selected a record number of six male boxers led by Southeast Asian Games medalists Ratha Ven and Sao Rangsey for the upcoming ASBC Asian Elite Championships 2022 in Amman, Jordan.
Ven, a silver finisher in the SEA Games 2015, will compete in his second major tournament following a long break as he is set to fight in the light welterweight (63.5kg) division.
On the other hand, SEA Games 2022 bronze winner and multiple national champion Rangsey is raring to see action in the bantamweight (54kg) class.
SEAG campaigners Davit Touch (light-60kg) and Nov Sokty (fly-51kg) as well as naturalized pugs Anvar Nasredinov (light heavy-80kg) and Abdulla Rajapov (heavy-92kg) from Uzbekistan will also join the continental tilt.
The Cambodia Boxing Federation (CBF) recently hired Kazakh coach Mr. Berikbol Kassymkhanov who picked the national bets together with local mentor Mr. Nara Chey.
CBF Secretary General Mr. Sophoan Buy, who is also serving as a member of the ASBC Board of Directors, will spearhead the delegation in the Asian elite tourney scheduled on October 30 to November 13.
