Bunjong Sinsiri and Bakhodir Jalolov were among the winners at the Olympic Games on Day3

Further three busy sessions were featured in the Paris Olympic Games where the third competition concluded with nice successes from Bunjong Sinsiri of Thailand and Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan.
Thirteen weight categories, 248 top boxers, 124 female and 124 male athletes from 69 nations will compete in the boxing event of the Paris Olympics.
Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, China, Chinese Taipei, India, the Philippines, Tajikistan, Jordan, Mongolia, South Korea, DPR Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan and Palestine will have boxers in the Olympic Games from the Asian continent.
Chinese Taipei’s Wu Shih Yi eliminated South Korea’s multiple Asian Champion Oh Yeon Ji in the Round of 32 and she walked over to the quarter-finals today. Her second opponent at the lightweight (60kg), Cynthia Ogunsemilore of Nigeria had a doping case therefore Wu joined the last eight without any contests.
China’s Yang Wenlu has 10 years of experience in the international stage and she won several of the big championships during her career. She is in top shape which she proved against another Asian boxer, Ha Thi Linh of Vietnam today in the preliminary round of the women’s lightweight (60kg) today.
Uzbekistan’s Ruslan Abdullayev is the defending World Champion at the light welterweight (63.5kg) and he opened his campaign with a strong performance today. The 22-year-old Uzbek was stronger, quicker and more focused than Mexico’s Panamerican Games silver medallist Miguel Angel Martinez to win their meeting easily.
Thailand’s Bunjong Sinsiri, the Asian Champion from 2022, started his today’s bout slowly against Venezuela’s Jesus Cova but he switched into a higher tempo in the beginning of the second. Sinsiri is a well-experienced boxer and he demonstrated his speed and technique against the South American to secure his place in the quarter-finals at the men’s light welterweight (63.5kg).
Uzbekistan’s defending Olympic Champion and World Champion at the super heavyweight (+92kg), Bakhodir Jalolov also opened his campaign in Paris today, he dominated the first and third rounds against Norway’s promising Omar Shiha and managed his way to the quarter-finals in the French capital.
Kazakhstan’s Mukhammedsabyr Bazarbay Uulu was their last male boxer who qualified for the Paris Olympics to complete their squad. The 22-year-old light welterweight (63.5kg) boxer eliminated Spain’s Oier Ibarreche first in Paris and he continued his winning series against Chinese Taipei’s Asian Games silver medallist Lai Chu En.
