Bektenov, Orozbekov, Turdubayev and Bekzhigit Uulu won the tightest finals at the Kyrgyzstan Elite National Championships

The Kyrgyzstan Elite National Championships delivered fantastic and close finals at the Kozhomkul Sports Complex in Bishkek.  

The Kyrgyzstan Elite National Championships was the last selection event for the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships which will be starting in the upcoming days.  

Altogether 17 females and 103 men elite boxers competed in the Kyrgyzstan Elite National Championships in Bishkek.

Two teenagers from the Chui region such as Aliya Saaliyeva and Milana Shikhshabekova won the first two female titles in the National Championships, both controlled their semi-finals and finals well enough to take the gold medals.

Miraida Tashpolotova from the Dzhalal-Abad region delivered the top surprise in the women’s part of the Nationals when she defeated the No.1, Shakhriza Khalilova in the semi-finals of the women’s featherweight (57kg) and she continued the winning path also against Aynazik Rustambek Kyzy of Bishkek in the final. 

Issyk-Kul region’s Asylbek Amankul Uulu was smaller than Durusbek Aitmatov of Osh at the men’s minimumweight (48kg) but his pressure guaranteed his success in the first male final of the National Championships.

Bishkek’s national team member and top boxer, Anvarzhan Khodzhiyev used his tricky style of boxing against his main opponents as Bekzat Ergeshov and Dzhenish Ulpatov for the title of the flyweight (51kg) and he accomplished his goals.  

Dzhalal-Abad’s Asian Youth Championships silver medallist 18-year-old Zafarbek Kamilov not only made his debut at the elite bantamweight (54kg) but he defeated all of his three rivals including Azizbek Khodzhayev in the final.  

Bishkek’s two-time World Championships quarter-finalist Sanzhar Seidakmatov had a tough semi-final against the ASBC Asian U22 medallist Islam Torobayev and after that success, he was too strong for Turgunbek Imankadyrov of Chui region in the final.

Bishkek’s Ryspek Bektenov had a narrow success over Bayaman Azizbek Uulu at the lightweight (60kg) while the Asian Youth silver medallist Omar Livaza looked more confident in the final of the light welterweight (63.5kg).

The 2022 ASBC Asian Youth Champion 19-year-old Almaz Orozbekov had a hard tactical job against Ikhtiyar Nishonov but he succeeded at the men’s welterweight (67kg). Dzhalal-Abad region’s 20-year-old Eldar Turdubayev had also a close but effective fight against Syrgak Abdyzhapar Uulu at light middleweight (71kg).

Osh’s 22-year-old powerful Islombek Turgunov defeated Dzhalal-Abad region’s Daniel Abdurakhmanov for the title of the middleweight (75kg) by 3:2 split decision. Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu defeated Sagyn Satybaldy Uulu in the battle of the ASBC medallists at the light heavyweight (80kg) which was another split decision victory.

The Rio Olympian and three-time ASBC medallist Erkin Adylbek Uulu used his longer hands well against the teenager Azim Choybekov at the cruiserweight (86kg) final. Bishkek’s Bakyt Toktosun Uulu (92kg) and the super talented 18-year-old Myrzakir Koshaliyev (+92kg) won the last two finals as expected.
