Bahrain chosen to host 2024 ISF Gymnasiade

Bahrain will host the 20th edition of the International School Sport Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade in October 2024.

ISF president Laurent Petrynka announced the development in a recent presser graced by Bahrain Olympic Committee president and General Sports Authority chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Boxing is included in the 25 sports expected to gather around 5,000 students aged 16 to 18 years from more than 80 countries in 10 days of competition.

It is seen to be the biggest sporting event set to be held in Bahrain in terms of the number of participants.

Bahrain national team head coach Mr. Tony Davis is already looking for promising young boxers who he can train for the event also known as the World School Sport Games. The Bahrain Boxing Federation is hoping that the Gymnasiade 2024 will spark interest among the youth and junior age groups, and further develop the combat sport in the country.
