Bahrain achieved a bronze medal at the ISF Gymnasiade

As several of the Asian National Federations, Bahrain sent boxers to the ISF Gymnasiade which took place in Zlatibor, Serbia in the recent days.
Their national team boxer, Mohammed Atiya, won an important bronze medal at the middleweight (75kg) in the ISF U15 Gymnasiade where Iran and Ukraine were in the finals.
Bahrain hosted the ISF Gymnasiade for the older boxers last year, which generated a boxing boom in the country’s youth with gold medals and several historic results.
The Kingdom of Bahrain was the only Arab country among 18 participating nations in the ISF International School Sports Games in Boxing, with 160 male and female boxers taking part.
“On behalf of the Bahrain Boxing Federation, we extend our sincere thanks to the Bahrain schools and collegiate athletics association and, led by its President Sheikh Saqr Al Khalifa, Secretary-General Ms. May Alhaji, Delegation Manager Mr. Ali Alhayki, and Administrator Mr. Ali Alhaddad, for their support, interest, and technical assistance to our boxer and the rest of the delegation.
I also express my gratitude and respect to my fellow national team coaches: the head coach of the national team Mr. Anthony Davis and the National Coach Mr. Fathi Messaoui for their trust, support, and follow-up,” said Mr. Mohamed Naseem, the coach from Bahrain who supported the team at the ISF U15 Gymnasiade.
Bahrain had several important competitions in the recent one year including the first ever National Boxing Championships, the Domestic Boxing Event and the Royal Rumble Tournaments with dual matches.
