Azat Usenaliev is Kyrgyzstan’s medal favourite in the AIBA World Boxing Championships

The Asian teams are in the final stage of the preparations to the upcoming AIBA World Boxing Championships which will be held in Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation on September 7-22. Among the Asian teams Kyrgyzstan will be attending in the men’s elite competition with six tough boxers.
Kyrgyzstan achieved two bronze medals in the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships this April which was one of their main preparation events to the AIBA World Boxing Championships. Kyrgyzstan claimed six medals in the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City which shows their future could be bright in the next Olympic era as well.
The head coach of the Kyrgyz national team Mr. Daniyar Jusubaliev selected six male boxers to Yekaterinburg. The Kyrgyz boxers attended in the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament, in the Gee Bee Tournament, in the Gamzayev Memorial Tournament, in the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup and many other events in 2019.
Azat Usenaliev is Kyrgyzstan’s most experienced team member who is one of the best flyweight (52kg) boxers in the whole world. The 28-year-old Kyrgyz boxer was ASBC Asian Champion in 2013 and he won more than 85% of his international contests during his career. Usenaliev won the Gee Bee Tournament and a strong Russian event this year and he was named among the medal favourites in the AIBA World Boxing Championships.
Munarbek Seyitbek Uulu achieved his first medal a bronze at the 2014 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok. He claimed also bronze in the 2018 FISU University World Boxing Championships and moved down to the featherweight (57kg) this year. He picked to represent Team Kyrgyzstan in Yekaterinburg which will be his first AIBA World Boxing Championships.
Argen Kadyrbek Uulu is a native talent in our sport who surprised in the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games where as a debutant almost got a medal. The 23-year-old boxer replaced Bek Kamchybekov in the team and claimed two bronze medals in the preparation events. Kyrgyzstan’s welterweight (69kg) boxer will be Abdurakhman Abdurakhmanov who earned also several medals in the international tournaments.
Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu began boxing only four years ago but the 19-year-old talent was involved to their elite national team and surprised the experts with his tough punches. The new Kyrgyz middleweight (75kg) boxer defeated Russia’s EUBC European Youth Champion Daniil Teterev and several tough athletes this year.
Erkin Adylbek Uulu was the flag bearer of Team Kyrgyzstan in the Opening Ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The Olympian boxer achieved bronze at the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships this April. The light heavyweight (81kg) boxer is taller than most of his opponents and his long distance tactic could be successful in Yekaterinburg as well.
