Asia’s stars as Yin Junhua, Yang Wenlu and Li Qian won the gold medals at the Chinese Women’s Elite National Championships in Yulin
The Chinese Women’s Elite National Championships was a five-day long competition and many of their stars attended in the event. The city of Yulin hosted the event at the Shanxi Province where China’s female stars as Yin Junhua, Yang Wenlu, Yang Liu and Li Qian were also among the winners in the National Championships.
Ten champions celebrated their successes from the light flyweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg) in Yulin. Boxers who were born between 1980 and 2001 were eligible to attend in the Chinese Women’s Elite National Championships.
Altogether 122 elite boxers competed for the ten titles in the Chinese Women’s National Championships where the bantamweight (54kg), the lightweight (60kg) and the welterweight (69kg) were the most crowded categories with the participation of 15 athletes each.
China is one of the biggest powers in women’s boxing, their athletes claimed several gold medals in the recent editions of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships, Asian Games and ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships. Three of their women boxers have already qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games through from the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event.
The first title of the Chinese Women’s Elite National Championships was captured by Chen Xinli of Zhejiang at the light flyweight (48kg) following her success over Guangdong’s Xiong Guanyun. In the absence of Tokyo Olympian Chang Yuan, Fujian’s international boxer Wu Yu controlled all of the contests at the flyweight (51kg) including the final against Yunnan’s Dai Xianli.

Yang Wenlu is also member for the Chinese elite national team since many years and claimed several titles but she did not qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games yet. The Sichuan-based experienced boxer was too smart for a younger hope, Yu Lisai in the final of the lightweight (60kg) and remained on the top of the national throne. Jiangsu’s Li Qiange won the title of the light welterweight (64kg) following her success over Liu Yushan of Heilongjiang.
Inner Mongolia’s Yang Liu was silver medallist at the 2019 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and used her longer reach well in the final of the welterweight (69kg) against Jiang Yuan of Jiangsu. Tokyo Olympian Li Qian is AIBA Women’s World Champion, Asian Games winner, ASBC Asian Women’s Boxing Championships gold medallist therefore she was too experienced for Henan’s promising 22-year-old Zheng Lu in the final of the middleweight (75kg).
Jilin’s Wudebala had medals in national events previously but her success at the light heavyweight (81kg) was a small surprise in Yulin.
