Asian Games – Schedule of the boxing event
The boxing tournament of the Asian Games will be starting with its first competition day on August 24 following the Sports Entries Check, the Technical Meeting, Official Draw and General weigh-in. China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Mongolia, Thailand and Uzbekistan are attending in the boxing event with maximum number of 10 boxers.
The Indonesian capital Jakarta is the host of the Asian Games where the Opening Ceremony will be held today. The venue of the boxing competition is the Jakarta International Expo Hall C3, C1 and C2. The boxers can attend in 3 women and 7 men weight classes in the competition which will be finished with its finals on September 1.
Altogether 31 nations and 200 boxers registered to take part in the boxing tournament of the Asian Games. The following nations will be attending in the boxing event: Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, host Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, DPR Korea, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Syria, Thailand, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Timor Leste, Chinese Taipei, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
Kazakhstan topped the team rankings of the boxing tournament of the 2014 Asian Games with their six gold medals but South Korea, China, India, Mongolia, Thailand and DPR Korea are also won titles four years ago. Among the titleholders of the event China’s Yin Junhua, South Korea’s Shin Jong Hun and Thailand’s Wuttichai Masuk are ready to defend their thrones in the Asian Games.

August 24 – Preliminaries in two sessions (from 14:00 and 18:00)
August 25 – Preliminaries in two sessions (from 13:00 and 18:00)
August 26 – Preliminaries in two sessions (from 13:00 and 18:00)
August 27 – Preliminaries in two sessions (from 13:00 and 18:00)
August 28 – Quarter-finals in two sessions (from 13:00 and 18:00)
August 29 – Quarter-finals in two sessions (from 13:00 and 18:00)
August 30 – Rest Day
August 31 – Semi-finals in two sessions (from 14:00 and 18:00)
September 1, 14:00 – Finals
