Asian Games – Hero of Day5 – Philippines’ Rogen Ladon

The Asian Boxing Confederation’s project the Hero of the Day will be published after each competition day during the boxing tournament of the Asian Games. Following Turkmenistan’s rising star Hursand Imankuliyev and South Korea’s two-time ASBC Asian Women’s Champion Oh Yeon Ji, Mongolia’s flyweight (52kg) boxer Gan-Erdene Gankhuyag and Thailand’s Chatchai Butdee, Philippines’ Rogen Ladon became the Hero of Day5.
Philippines’ Rogen Ladon was born in Bago City on November 10 in 1993. He began boxing at the age of 14 in 2007 due his elder brother Joegin who introduced the sport to him. Ladon claimed gold medal in the 2012 Taipei City Cup which was his first international success while his highlights came in 2015. In that year Ladon claimed silver in the Bangkok ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships and bronze in the Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships.
The Rio 2016 Olympian Rogen Ladon moved up to the flyweight (52kg) in the beginning of this year and he was selected to take part in the Asian Games. Ladon had to miss the 2014 edition therefore he was more than motivated in the quarter-finals of the weight category today. The Filipino boxer absolutely gave in everything, his heart made him powerful against Kazakhstan’s Islamic Solidarity Games winner No.1 Azat Makhmetov and secured his place in the last four.
