ASBC stars as Abdusaidova and Ruziyeva were among the winners at the Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Cup
The Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Cup saw thirteen new champions including the ASBC Asian Junior Champion Mavjuda Abdusaidova.
Boxers from the 2009 and 2010 age groups were eligible to compete in the Uzbekistan Women’s Junior National Cup.
Urgench is a city in the Khorezm region in the most western part of Uzbekistan and it has strong boxing schools as well.
The number of the junior girls was 148 in this National Cup and boxers from Samarkand, Namangan, Ferghana, Bukhara and the Khorezm region were the bests in the event.
The pinweight (46kg) is always strong in Uzbekistan and Namangan’s pride, Farangiz Usvaliyeva bagged the important title in Urgench after beating Ferghana’s Rukhshonabonu Akhadova in the first final.
Bukhara’s Nazokat Mardonova stopped three out of her four opponents in Urgench and she deserved to win the title at the light flyweight (48kg).
Namangan’s Shodiyona Melikuziyeva also won two contests by RSC and she was brilliant in the final of the flyweight (50kg) against her teammate from the same region, Sabina Mirzayeva as well.
Ferghana’s Kumriniso Mukhammadova won the tightest final in the competition, she defeated Karakalpakstan’s Asel Dariyabayeva by 3:2 split decision at the light bantamweight (52kg) before Samarkand’s Sabrina Chakomanova won the bantamweight (54kg) final closely.
Farzona Ruziyeva achieved a bronze medal at the 2024 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and she is still in the junior age group this year as well. The 15-year-old boxer moved up to the featherweight (57kg) and she triumphed over her main rivals such as Sevara Khujamova, Khuriniso Ergasheva and Shabnam Urmonova in dominant contests.
One of the best local girls, Mekhremakh Kilichova delighted the Khorezm region following her triumph over Zarnigor Narzullayeva at the light welterweight (63kg) final. Labar Shaymanova (66kg) and Ulbosin Djalgasbayeva (70kg) won the next finals in Urgench and both involved to the national squad.
Samarkand’s Farangiz Khudoykulova impressed at the middleweight (75kg) and she proved her strong future potential in the city of Urgench. She defeated Namangan’s Sabrina Nuritdinova unanimously and she bagged the tenth title of the National Cup.
Mavjuda Abdusaidova is one of the most experienced junior girls in Uzbekistan and she is the current ASBC Asian Junior Champion at the light heavyweight (80kg). The 15-year-old talent stopped Tashkent region’s Feruza Nazirova in the first round of their unequal final bout.
