ASBC President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira used the opportunity to arrange the first Board of Directors meeting in Amman

Following Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira has been elected as ASBC President, the Board of Directors set up in the Asian Boxing Confederation’s Extraordinary Congress in Amman, Jordan today. Next to the ASBC President, the main governing body of the Asian Boxing Confederation contains eleven Board of Directors.

The members of the new Board of Directors represent all of the regions of the Asian continent and all of them are experienced boxing officials who serve our beloved combat sport since many years. Two women officials as Mrs. Khitam Ay of Jordan and Mrs. Rasha Alkhamis of Saudi Arabia were also elected as Board of Directors as part of the Gender Equality.

The President of the Iraqi Boxing Federation, Mr. Ali Takleef Shaheed and the Sri Lankan President, Mr. Dian Gomes have experiences from the previous management. Former ASBC Executive Director Mr. Aziz Kozhambetov of Kazakhstan returned to the sport and he was elected as Board of Director too.

The new ASBC President used up the opportunity in Amman to arrange the first ASBC Board of Directors Meeting in the evening at the Regency Palace Hotel in Amman during the rest day of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships. The opening ASBC Board of Directors Meeting was fruitful and the members started the first negotiation and introductions to develop boxing in our continent.

–  Mr. Hossein Souri, Iran

–  Mr. Mohammad Salhoud, Palestine

–  Mr. Sophoan Buy, Cambodia

–  Mr. Omar Saleh Al-Jaberi, United Arab Emirates
