ASBC President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira and the ASBC management send their sincere condolence to Mr. Januario Da Silva Brito’s family

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand, furthermore the whole Asian Boxing Family send their sincere condolence to Timor Leste’s Mr. Januario Da Silva Brito’s family following the President of the National Federation passing away.  

Mr. Januario Da Silva Brito was the actual President of the Timor Leste Boxing Federation which is one of the smallest National Federations in the Southeast Asian region but their boxing life is promising.

Mr. Januario Da Silva Brito was elected as President in Timor Leste on January 2023 and he should be in charge in the office until the end of his 4-years term, 2027. His Vice-Presidents as Mr. Joao Jose Fernandes, Mr. Daruak Laud and the Secretary General Mr. Rogerio Amaral Soares have to arrange a new elections following his death.

One of the greatest efforts of their President was that Timor Leste returned to the level of the ASBC events this year and their team competed successfully at the Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan a few months ago.

The entire Asian Boxing Family will remember his hard work to develop boxing in Timor Leste despite the limited resources and his enthusiasm for our beloved combat sport.

May his soul will rest in eternal peace in Timor Leste.
