ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba sends his best wishes to the Laos Boxing Federation on their National Day
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Anas Alotaiba, furthermore the whole ASBC management are sending their best wishes to the Laos Boxing Federation and the whole Laos Boxing Family on their National Day.
Laos was a French protectorate for most of the 20th century and following to the end of the World War II, the resistance leads the foundation of the Pathet Lao organization. Laos became independent after the First Indochina War in 1953 as a constitutional monarchy which turned to a communist monarchy in 1975.
The public holiday marks the end of the monarchy and the establishment of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in 1975. The celebrations of the National Day include parades and dancing at the famous That Luang Temple and some other important locations in the landlocked country.
Laos competed in several ASBC Asian Boxing Championships in the recent years especially in the women’s elite, men’s elite and youth age groups. The developing country achieved medals in the recent editions of the Southeast Asian Games and few of their boxers won contests also in the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships. The President of their Laos Boxing Federation Mr. Sisouphanh Sengsavanh is a well-known official in the Asian continent. Laos sent small delegation to the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and also to the Belgrade 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships. The country has been preparing hard to the next year’s most important competitions as the Southeast Asian Games in May and Asian Games in September.
